Account Handler – North American Direct & Facultative (D&F)
Location: London
Salary: Up to £55,000
I’m partnering with a fast growing, London based (re)insurance broker that has recently secured significant new business within its North American Direct & Facultative (D&F) portfolio. To support this growth, we’re seeking an experienced Account Handler capable of managing complex, high value accounts from day one.
The Opportunity
This position suits someone who thrives in a busy, technical environment and brings 3–5 years of NA D&F Account Handling experience . You’ll manage substantial workloads, oversee documentation, liaise with key market participants, and ensure high quality service delivery across every stage of the placement.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate risk placement from start to finish, including submissions, MRCs, invoices, endorsements, and document control.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, underwriters, and market representatives; resolve queries effectively.
- Maintain detailed workflow records, electronic filing, debit notes, and policy wordings.
- Support brokers with business development opportunities and contribute to innovative risk transfer structures.
- Ensure full compliance with LMBS, FCA, and international requirements, including Atlas management where necessary.
- Provide oversight or guidance to junior team members when appropriate.
- Collaborate across internal divisions to enhance efficiency and client outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years’ proven experience in NA Direct & Facultative Account Handling.
- Strong technical understanding of NA markets, wordings, and placement processes.
- A meticulous approach to organisation, workflow, and compliance.
- High quality communication skills with a client focused mindset.
- Ability to operate under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
If you’re an experienced NA D&F professional ready to join a team on an exciting upward trajectory, I’d welcome a confidential conversation.
