Executive Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief, Reuters

Thomson Reuters
London

Reuters is seeking a highly adaptable and experienced Executive Assistant to support the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) and, from time to time, the wider Editorial Leadership Team. This is a senior, trusted role within a fast‑paced, global newsroom. The scope of the position is fluid and will evolve in line with business needs.

About the Role

As an Executive Assistant at Reuters, you will:

  • Manage a complex, fast‑moving global diary, including scheduling meetings and speaking engagements with senior internal and external stakeholders

  • Apply exceptional attention to detail when overseeing all aspects of the Editor‑in‑Chief’s schedule

  • Coordinate and deliver complex international business travel, including flights, accommodation, ground transport and visa arrangements, responding calmly and efficiently to last‑minute changes

  • Prioritise and balance competing demands, ensuring effective engagement with key internal and external counterparts

  • Act with the highest level of discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information

  • Anticipate potential issues and proactively prepare practical solutions

  • Act as a proxy for the Editor‑in‑Chief across internal approval systems, including Workday, CORA (invoicing), Ariba, Fieldglass and Expenses

  • Support special projects and undertake ad hoc duties as required

  • Work closely with other Executive Assistants across the newsroom, providing cover and support when needed

About You

To be our Executive Assistant, you will have:

  • Proven experience working in a fast‑paced, diverse and constantly evolving environment

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as an Executive Assistant, supporting senior executives at the highest level

  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm, resilient and effective under pressure

Skills to Thrive in This Role

  • Highly adaptable, composed and unflappable

  • Maintain composure in high demand situations

  • Confident and professional communicator

  • Able to manage shifting priorities and last‑minute changes with ease

Desirable (but not Essential)

  • Experience supporting senior leaders within an international multimedia news organisation, or working closely with journalists across text, TV and pictures

  • Experience using Copilot AI or similar tools to enhance productivity, including drafting communications, refining documents, summarising information and streamlining administrative processes

Please note, the deadline for applications is Sunday, April 26th, 2026.
