About The Job
An opportunity has arisen for a Pastry Sous Chef to join the Jumeirah Carlton Tower. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
- Develop and execute menus that highlight seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, ensuring high culinary standards.
- Lead and mentor the kitchen team, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, maintaining efficiency and consistency in food preparation and service.
- Manage food and labor costs through effective planning and waste reduction strategies.
- Standardize and implement recipes to ensure consistent taste, quality, and presentation.
- Supervise procurement and inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and supplier relationships..
About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Extensive experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Junior Sous Chef in upscale or high-volume kitchens.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Proficiency in cost control, recipe standardization, and kitchen operations.
- Passion for innovative cuisine and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
- Adaptable under pressure, with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
