Role Overview
The school is seeking a knowledgeable and organised Music Technician to support the music department.
The successful candidate will ensure that instruments, equipment and music technology facilities remain organised and fully operational. The technician will also assist staff and students during practical music sessions and performances.
The role is ideal for someone with technical knowledge of music equipment and a passion for supporting creative learning.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain musical instruments and equipment
• Prepare rehearsal spaces and classrooms for music lessons
• Assist students with music technology equipment
• Support teachers during practical lessons and rehearsals
• Maintain recording equipment and audio systems
• Organise instrument storage and equipment inventories
• Assist with the setup of concerts and performances
• Ensure music facilities remain organised and functional
• Coordinate equipment bookings within the department
• Provide technical support for music recording and production
• Assist with sound setup for school events and performances
• Support the department with general technical organisation
Candidate Profile
The school is seeking someone with strong technical understanding of music equipment and enthusiasm for supporting student creativity.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
• Knowledge of musical instruments and sound equipment
• Experience with audio systems or music technology software
• Strong organisational skills
• Ability to maintain equipment effectively
• Confidence assisting students with technical equipment
• Interest in music education or production
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy school environment
• Positive and collaborative approach when supporting staff and students
Experience working within a music or performing arts environment is desirable.
