Graduate Teaching Assistant

An "Outstanding" Ofsted-rated all through SEN School in Hackney is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a term-time only agency position, providing crucial 1:1 support for students across the school This role demands a dedicated individual to foster consistent daily learning routines and an interest in working with children with additional needs is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement personalized learning strategies tailored to the individual needs of the student.
• Adapt and create learning resources to ensure accessibility and engagement.
• Monitor and record student progress, reporting observations to the class teacher.
• Assist with lesson planning and preparation, collaborating with the teaching staff.
• Provide targeted support to lower academic ability groups within the class.
• Offer general classroom assistance, ensuring a productive learning environment.
• Manage challenging behavior effectively, promoting positive social interaction.
• Ensure the student's safety and well-being, adhering to safeguarding procedures.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Reference-able experience in a similar role, ideally within a school or care setting.
• A driven and enthusiastic approach to education.
• Prior experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• In-depth knowledge of child safeguarding and protection procedures.
• Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum would be avantageous
• Degree educated in relevants subjects such as Early Years, Education or Psychology. Artistic degrees will also be considered.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Fluent in English.
