Senior Project Manager (Cisco Practice)

Based from our Hamilton office in central Scotland, you should be a seasoned Project Manager, ideally PMP or Prince 2 certified, with solid experience of delivering network, security and infrastructure projects. You should have knowledge and experience in delivering projects aligned within the Cisco product portfolio such as Networking, Security, Data Centre and Collaboration technologies.
You will be serving our public and private sector clients through a diverse range of projects, with some of our UK clients requiring SC and Police Clearance, so having this would be a distinct advantage.
The Role:
Managing complex Cisco projects for our customers from initial kick-off to successful delivery.
Monitor/measure timelines, profitability and customer satisfaction for each project.
Supervise and ensure quality implementation by internal and external resources.
Manage project risks to resolve issues adversely affecting on-time performance, profitability or customer satisfaction.
Working closely with Pre-sales Consultants, Engineering and Support teams to ensure seamless delivery through Insight’s Plan-> Build-> Manage methodology.
Attend all client and internal meetings pertaining to project delivery.
Establish goals and objectives, implementation plan and time frames, and implementation team responsibilities for projects.
Create and manage a full range of project documentation such as Project Initiation Document (PID), meeting minutes, Risk Register, Action Log, Project Plan and handover documentation packages.
Make full use of project management and financial tracking tools provided, and consistently evaluate the profitability of the projects assigned.
Production of project status reports.
Production and maintenance of lessons learned register inline with Insight’s continuous improvement programme.
As an experienced Senior PM, provide support and guidance to other team members.
Ensure adherence to agreed PMO processes and methodologies and bring your experience as a Senior member of the team to provide improvement ideas.
Manage Project Change Control processes.
Ensure successful project closure and handover.
Assisting and supporting Pre-Sales activities, RFP/tender responses and presentations to clients when required.
Requirements:
You will require a minimum of 5 years’ experience of successfully delivering IT related projects, ideally within a Cisco, networking or security focused environment.
Hybrid-based role, with occasional travel to Insight offices and client sites (depending on project requirements).
Experience of managing multiple projects on time, to budget and the agreed quality.
PMP or Prince 2 Project Manager certification.
SC and NPPV3 cleared (or willing to complete clearance).
Project Management experience with good project delivery and planning skills.
Report writing (progress reports & associated project documentation).
Experience of management/liaison with 3rd parties.
Able to quickly gain thorough understanding of the customer requirements, the project’s outputs, constraints and associated issues.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Experience of assisting in Pre-sales and working as part of a bid team in responding to client requirements.
Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.
Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
Customer focussed; team player and leader.
Accurate and attentive to detail.
Has excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work using your own initiative.
You will be part of the Insight EMEA PMO team, which resides within the EMEA Services Delivery function. This is responsible for delivering professional and managed services to our clients across a full range of technology and software offerings, delivering a scaled, consistent client experience.
