Year 4 Teacher - Vauxhall
We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and committed Year 4 Teacher to join a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Vauxhall, starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning and who is eager to support pupils as they progress through Lower Key Stage 2.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Year 4 class, delivering engaging, well-structured lessons that promote academic achievement while supporting pupils’ personal and social development. The school places a strong emphasis on inclusion, high expectations, and creating a positive learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.
You will become part of a collaborative and supportive teaching team where shared planning, open communication, and professional development are actively encouraged. Senior leaders are approachable and committed to supporting staff wellbeing and career progression.
The Role
As a Year 4 Teacher, you will plan, teach, and assess lessons across the full primary curriculum, ensuring learning is differentiated to meet the needs of all pupils. You will use assessment effectively to track progress, identify next steps, and provide targeted support where required. Encouraging independence, resilience, and a positive attitude to learning will be central to your classroom practice.
You will work closely with teaching assistants and phase colleagues to ensure consistency and high standards across Lower Key Stage 2. Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues will be key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons in line with the Year 4 curriculum
Use assessment data to monitor progress and inform future planning
Differentiate learning to support pupils of all abilities, including SEND and EAL learners
Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Promote positive behaviour, independence, and resilience
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 4
Be confident in curriculum delivery and assessment
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
Be organised, reflective, and adaptable
Show a commitment to inclusive practice and safeguarding
Be a positive and reliable team player
