Senior Devops Engineer (Remote - EU)
This is a remote position.
The employer develops a breakthrough high-performance onchain exchange that delivers institutional grade execution, whilst delivering superior speed, security and reliability guarantees to users. Their revolutionary decentralized exchange operates as the world's first trading-specific Based Rollup on Ethereum offering core competitive advantage : Unlike traditional Layer 2 solutions that rely on single sequencers, Based Rollup grants transaction sequencing rights directly to Ethereum validators, achieving true decentralization.
This design delivers significant benefits:
- Speed: < 1ms trade execution (100 times faster than top DEXs)
- Security: verifiable order execution and settlement, via zk-proofs, with executed trades settling on Ethereum. over 950,000 Ethereum validators securing every transaction. Transaction data ultimately settles on Ethereum mainnet, inheriting all L1 security guarantees.
- Reliability: no single point of failure, with the rollup design having multiple rotating L2 nodes (unlike generation-1 rollups)
Their custom trading engine is written in Rust, achieving deterministic execution. Their engine is cross-compiled into zero-knowledge circuits, allowing the network to generate validity proofs for each state transition, ensuring provably correct order execution.
They’re looking for a Senior Devops Engineer based anywhere in Europe (Remote), to join their team
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers the company's DeX and Network. Your mission is to ensure systems are secure, scalable, and highly available — enabling the team to deliver quickly without sacrificing reliability.
You thrive in a small, highly skilled team dealing with complexity, unknowns, and rapid iteration.
You enjoy automating away toil and creating scalable, self-healing systems.
You are excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of finance through reliable, secure infrastructure.
You embrace end-to-end ownership of systems, from design to monitoring to incident response.
MISSIONS
Infrastructure Design & Automation:
Design, implement, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Build scalable, reproducible environments that support high-throughput, low-latency trading systems.
CI/CD & Developer Experience:
Own and improve the CI/CD pipelines for backend, frontend, and smart contract codebases. Ensure fast, reliable builds and deployments with strong observability and rollback mechanisms.
Monitoring, Observability & Reliability:
Define and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies to achieve maximum system reliability and early incident detection. Drive SLO/SLI/SLAs and participate in on-call rotations.
Scalability & Performance:
Optimize infrastructure for latency-sensitive workloads. Tune autoscaling policies, network configurations, and resource utilization to ensure consistent performance during peak loads.
Security & Compliance:
Implement robust security practices across infrastructure, CI/CD, and runtime environments. Protect systems from evolving threats through network segmentation, secret management, and runtime hardening.
Incident Response & Disaster Recovery:
Establish and maintain playbooks, failover mechanisms, and disaster recovery plans. Lead post-incident reviews and proactively address root causes.
Cost Management:
Continuously monitor and optimize cloud costs while ensuring performance and redundancy requirements are met.
Technological Evaluation:
Stay current on infrastructure tooling, orchestration frameworks, and security best practices. Evaluate new technologies for potential adoption to improve performance and resilience.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
Maintain clear, detailed documentation for infrastructure, processes, and runbooks. Mentor engineers and help foster a culture of reliability and automation across the team.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles in high-availability, mission-critical systems with prior Web3 and trading experience

- Familiarity with blockchain infrastructure, node operations, and Web3 tooling
- Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation)
- Expertise with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with Kubernetes cluster tuning for high performance (e.g., custom schedulers, CNI tuning)
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, etc.)
- Advanced knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, OpenTelemetry)
- Hands-on experience with secrets management and security best practices (HashiCorp Vault, KMS, IAM policies)
- Proven ability to manage and tune production infrastructure supporting latency-sensitive workloads
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, Go, or similar)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Experience supporting low-latency trading systems or other real-time financial applications
