Higher Level Teaching Assistant

HLTA – Barking & Dagenham


Are you looking for a new position as a HLTA in Barking & Dagenham. If so, this may be the perfect position for you. Pertemps Education is working alongside a primary school who are seeking to appoint an experienced HLTA to support students of primary age in their dedicated SEN resource base.


This will be a full-time, long-term position starting immediately till the end of the academic year. There will be an opportunity to go permanent upon review. The daily rate will be between £120 to £140 depending on your experience.

Mixed community primary school based in Barking & Dagenham
Caters for students aged 3 to 11 years old
Approximately 450 students on roll
Ofsted rated ‘Good’ across all areas
Dedicated resourced provision for students with Autism
Provides an inclusive, well-rounded curriculum with a focus on emotional wellbeing, character virtues, and academic growth through broad, supportive learning experiences
Key responsibilities:

Able to independently lead class teaching
Can work with students across EYFS and KS1
Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
Assisting students with Autism and/or additional learning needs
Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption
Providing feedback to teachers and parents
The ideal candidate:

Can work full-time, 5 days a week during term time
Can work from 08:30 AM to 03:30 PM
Have experience working with students with a range of SEND
Be enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential
Comfortable working as part of a team and can form relationships
