Lead the Way as Chair of Trustees of Bishopsland Educational Trust We’re seeking an inspiring Chair of Trustees to lead a dynamic board at the forefront of preserving and promoting the heritage craft of Silversmithing across the UK. This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact—championing the vocational training of traditional skills, supporting craft practitioners, and shaping the future of a nationally respected charity.
About Us:
Bishopsland Educational Trust is an internationally recognised charity dedicated to the training and education of emerging makers in the heritage craft of silversmithing. We are a long standing charity with a proven 30-year track record, having mentored and trained over 250 emerging silversmiths.
You’ll Bring:
✔ Proven leadership and governance experience
✔ A passion for heritage, culture, or craft (personal or professional)
✔A belief in the power of skills to unlock opportunities
✔ Strong strategic vision and collaborative spirit
✔ Experience chairing meetings and engaging stakeholders
What You'll Do:
Lead the Board of Trustees and support the Chief Executive & Principal Guide the charity’s strategic direction Act as an ambassador for the charity within and beyond the heritage sector Help shape sustainable growth and long-term impact
