The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Tax Manager to join a specialist Property Tax team. This is a client-facing role offering a mix of compliance and advisory work, with significant scope to contribute to complex property-related tax projects. You will play a key role in managing client relationships, delivering high-quality technical work, and mentoring junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the corporation tax compliance for a portfolio of property clients, including standalone companies and complex group structures
• Reviewing corporation tax computations and returns prepared by junior staff, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
• Proactively identifying and implementing tax-efficient solutions for clients
• Providing property-focused tax advisory services, including:
  • Structuring advice (e.g. companies, LLPs)
  • Group reorganisations and restructures
  • Group tax planning
  • Corporate Interest Restriction
  • Withholding taxes
  • Property acquisitions and disposals
  • Tax due diligence for transactions
• Managing billing processes and monitoring work in progress
• Line managing and developing junior staff through coaching, feedback and the appraisal process
• Contributing to business development initiatives, including involvement in the firm's property sector group and attending networking events

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients, ideally within the property sector
• Strong technical knowledge of UK corporation tax
• CTA qualification (or equivalent) preferred
• Confident working autonomously while also contributing effectively within a team
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate
• A proactive mindset with the creativity to identify tax opportunities and risks
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook; familiarity with AlphaTax is advantageous
