About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ST3-level Registrar in Emergency Medicine to join a busy, well-supported Emergency Department within a central London teaching hospital.
This is an excellent placement for doctors keen to develop confidence in managing undifferentiated emergencies while working alongside a large, experienced multidisciplinary team.

You’ll be supported by senior registrars and consultants on every shift, gaining exposure to majors, minors, resus, and rapid assessment areas — ideal for those progressing through EM training or looking to consolidate acute skills through locum work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initial assessment and management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department.

  • Work across majors, minors, resus, and the Rapid Assessment & Treatment (RAT) area.

  • Carry out investigations, formulate management plans, and liaise with inpatient specialties.

  • Support and supervise junior doctors (FY/SHO level) and nursing staff as appropriate.

  • Participate in handovers, departmental teaching, and clinical governance meetings.

  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate care in line with Trust standards.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • GMC registration with full licence to practise.

  • Minimum 6 months’ recent NHS experience in Emergency Medicine or Acute Care.

  • ALS certification (ATLS/APLS desirable).

  • Confident in managing acutely unwell adults and initiating stabilisation in resus.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable:

  • MRCEM (or part-qualified).

  • Previous London or major trauma centre experience.

  • Interest in progressing through EM training.

Benefits:

• Competitive hourly rates
• Daily and weekly payroll services
• Revalidation and appraisal services
• Career progression and market-insight with your own expert consultant
• Access to CPD events & training courses
• Access to exclusive locum opportunities with more preferred supplier contracts
• Rewarding recommendation and loyalty schemes
