School Office Manager - Primary School - Tower Hamlets...

Marchant Recruitment
London

A welcoming and community-focused primary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking an organised, proactive and experienced School Office Manager to lead the day-to-day running of the school office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled administrator to take on a key operational role, supporting senior leaders, staff, families and pupils through strong systems, clear communication and professional leadership of the admin function.

The school serves a diverse local community and is known for its warm ethos, clear routines and commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing. The office team plays a vital role in ensuring the school runs smoothly, and the Office Manager is central to that success.

The Role

As School Office Manager , you will oversee the smooth and efficient operation of the school office, ensuring administrative systems support the best possible outcomes for pupils and staff. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and developing office systems, workflows and day-to-day priorities

  • Line managing administrative staff and coordinating responsibilities across the office team

  • Acting as a key point of contact for parents, visitors and external agencies

  • Supporting attendance administration and communication with families

  • Maintaining accurate pupil records and supporting data processes where required

  • Overseeing ordering, finance-related admin tasks and general office budgets (where applicable)

  • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed, including visitor management and record-keeping

  • Supporting senior leaders with communications, reports and organisation of key events

This role requires strong organisation, excellent people skills and the confidence to manage a busy workload while maintaining high standards and a calm, welcoming environment.

The Team

You will lead a supportive admin team and work closely with the Headteacher and senior leaders to ensure the school’s operational systems are well managed. The school values teamwork, professionalism and a shared commitment to supporting families and pupils.

The successful candidate will bring a solution-focused approach, supporting colleagues, improving systems where needed and ensuring that the office remains a welcoming, efficient hub of the school.

The School

The school has a warm and inclusive culture, with clear routines that support calm and purposeful learning. Staff work closely together, and leaders value strong communication and a supportive working environment.

Safeguarding is central to the school’s work, and the Office Manager plays a key role in ensuring procedures are followed consistently and confidential information is handled appropriately.

What the School is Looking For

The successful candidate will:

  • Have strong experience in school administration, office management or a similar role

  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

  • Be confident leading and supporting a small team

  • Have strong communication skills and a professional, welcoming manner

  • Be confident using IT systems, including office software and school database systems

  • Understand the importance of confidentiality, safeguarding and accurate record-keeping

  • Be proactive, calm under pressure and committed to providing an excellent service

Experience in a primary school environment is welcomed but not essential for the right candidate with strong administrative leadership experience.

Why Join This School

  • Key operational role within a welcoming primary school

  • Opportunity to lead and shape effective office systems

  • Supportive leadership team and collaborative working culture

  • Work in a diverse Tower Hamlets community with strong family engagement

  • Make a meaningful difference to the daily running of the school

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced administrator to lead a primary school office, support a positive school culture and help the school run smoothly each day — in the heart of Tower Hamlets.
