Engineering Manager
We're seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Mechanical Services scope for a major Defence Nuclear infrastructure project. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, this pivotal role oversees engineering delivery from design through to handover within an operational nuclear facility, ensuring compliance with the Nuclear Safety Case and delivering works to the highest standards of safety, quality and performance. Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering activities for Mechanical Services and supporting infrastructure from design through commissioning and handover.
- Manage design consultants, D&B subcontractors and project engineering teams.
- Ensure all works comply with the Nuclear Safety Case and relevant regulations.
- Represent the project's engineering aspects to senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement across engineering delivery.
- Oversee installation, commissioning and quality assurance processes.
- Maintain strong relationships with Defence Infrastructure Organisation and other key partners.
- Support tendering and mobilisation activities as required. Essential Skills & Experience
- Significant leadership experience in engineering roles.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex projects.
- Strong background in Mechanical Engineering within highly regulated environments.
- Experience delivering projects in compliance with nuclear safety requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent. Desirable
- Previous experience on Defence Nuclear or similar high-security projects.
- Familiarity with collaborative working models, joint ventures and alliances.
