Marchant Recruitment
Harrow, Greater London

Location: Harrow, North West London
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Start Date: Next Academic Term
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the London Borough of Harrow is seeking a committed EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs within its Early Years provision.

About the School

The school has a strong community ethos and a clear commitment to inclusive education. Early intervention and SEN support are key priorities, and staff work closely together to ensure children receive consistent and effective support. The Early Years setting is calm, structured, and designed to support children’s emotional, social, and academic development.

The leadership team is approachable and supportive, and staff benefit from regular training and opportunities for professional growth.

The Role

You will work with children in Nursery or Reception who require additional support to access learning and school routines. Many pupils supported in this role have EHCPs or emerging SEN needs.

Your responsibilities will include supporting:

  • Communication and language development

  • Social interaction and play

  • Emotional regulation and positive behaviour

  • Independence and self-care skills

Support will be provided through a mixture of 1:1 work and small-group activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored SEN support aligned with individual learning plans

  • Support access to the EYFS curriculum

  • Implement strategies recommended by the SENCo and external professionals

  • Use visual timetables, routines, and sensory resources

  • Support transitions throughout the school day

  • Assist with personal care and toileting where required

  • Observe and record progress

  • Maintain safeguarding and health & safety standards

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in EYFS

  • Is calm, patient, and compassionate

  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Is committed to inclusion and safeguarding

  • Is eager to develop professionally

What the School Can Offer

  • A supportive and inclusive working environment

  • High-quality EYFS and SEN training

  • Clear guidance and mentoring

  • A positive and collaborative staff culture

  • Valuable experience for a career in education or SEN

This is an excellent opportunity to support young learners at a crucial stage in their development.
