Year 2 Teacher | Richmond Independent School
About the role
The Year 2 Teacher will secure core outcomes in reading, writing and mathematics within a joyful classroom culture. Starting January 2026, the Year 2 Teacher oversees guided reading, reasoning-led maths and knowledge-rich topics. The Year 2 Teacher collaborates with specialists and the SENDCo, plans ahead of January 2026, attends induction in January 2026, and carries full responsibility from January 2026. With small classes, the Year 2 Teacher can personalise pathways and celebrate rapid gains through spring 2026.
About the school
This Richmond Independent School combines scholarship with kindness. Purpose-built spaces, a superb library and outdoor learning zones empower the Year 2 Teacher to craft memorable sequences. The Independent School invests in coaching, inquiry and high-quality CPD - support available from January 2026 and sustained past January 2026. Parents are engaged partners, and the Year 2 Teacher is central to that dialogue.
About you
You are a reflective Year 2 Teacher with QTS/PGCE (or equivalent) who loves the craft of teaching. You use assessment smartly, communicate clearly and maintain warm, exacting routines. The Year 2 Teacher is organised, collaborative and eager to lead clubs or enrichment. Crucially, you can begin January 2026 and embrace an Independent School ethos that prizes curiosity and character.
Impact
As Year 2 Teacher, you will champion fundamentals, orchestrate interventions, and prepare pupils for a seamless transition into KS2. Your expertise as Year 2 Teacher will be amplified by resources, time for planning and colleagues who share your commitment. From January 2026, the Year 2 Teacher will help shape exciting curriculum weeks and contribute to moderation and assessment milestones beyond January 2026.
Application
