This is a strategic leadership role for someone who thrives on structuring complex, messy, real-world data into scalable and intelligent systems that can drive both science and software forward.

• Design the scientific data layer — structure core domains like molecules, processes, equipment, and experimental data.
• Define modeling ontologies — create modular, scalable ontologies to support modeling workflows, simulations, AI agents, and data integration.
• Enable AI and traceability — shape the data structures that power workflow automation, recommendation systems, and audit trails.
• Bridge teams — work closely with engineering, product, ML, and scientific users to align business needs and modeling semantics.
• Scale a platform-wide system — define standards and conventions that support both out-of-the-box and customer-specific data models.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years experience in data modeling, semantic architecture, or ontology engineering — ideally with real-world R&D, scientific, or enterprise complexity.
• Expertise in designing scalable, extensible knowledge systems across structured, unstructured, and metadata-heavy environments.
• Demonstrated success working on data systems that integrate across multiple domains and user groups.
• Hands-on experience designing or implementing knowledge graphs, domain-specific schemas, or structured data APIs.
• Strong systems thinking, with the ability to collaborate across technical, product, and scientific contexts.
• Technical fluency in Python, graph models, or LLM/AI-integrated data frameworks is a strong plus.

Bonus If You Have

• Experience in modeling scientific or industrial data domains (e.g., formulation, scale-up, analytics, process development).
• Knowledge of data systems aligned with compliance standards like GxP, ISO, or FDA/EMA expectations.
• Background designing tools for data discovery, lineage, or semantic search.
• Interest or experience in LLM-based interaction with structured data.
