Safeguarding Lead (London)

Hestia Housing and Support
London

We are Hestia. We make a difference.

At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for a Safeguarding Lead to play a pivotal role in our Quality Assurance team in London

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

You will be leading Hestia's safeguarding strategy, working closely with Designated Safeguarding Leads to embed a strong, organisation‑wide safeguarding culture. Acting as the subject‑matter expert, you will oversee daily incident reviews, provide expert challenge on complex cases, and ensure accurate quarterly and annual reporting to senior leadership and the Board. You will chair the Safeguarding Panel, drive continuous improvement, lead policy reviews, and oversee safeguarding learning and development. You will manage safeguarding communications, champion best practice, guide Safeguarding Champions, represent Hestia at external forums, and hold the authority to challenge practice and require remedial action across all levels.

What do I need to bring with me?

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.

You will bring a recognised safeguarding qualification, a strong record of ongoing professional development, and substantial experience handling complex safeguarding responsibilities across children's or adults' services. You will be confident working with multi‑agency partners, implementing safeguarding policies, and providing professional challenge at all levels. You will bring excellent communication, influencing and relationship‑building skills, alongside resilience when working with sensitive or distressing issues. You will have strong administrative abilities, sound knowledge of safeguarding legislation and local processes, and the capacity to produce clear guidance, reports and resources. You will also bring integrity, respect, and a commitment to Hestia's values.

Interview Steps

We keep our interview process simple, so you know exactly what to expect.

  • Shortlisting call: We have a team of dedicated recruitment specialists who will speak to you about your experience, motivations and values. They will also tell you about all the great work we do!
