Position: Building Surveyor
Location: Shoreditch, London (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £35,000 - £55,000 DOE
Bennett & Game are representing an ambitious, multidisciplinary building consultancy who are seeking a Building Surveyor to join their expanding London office in Shoreditch. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a business experiencing significant growth, with four UK offices and a reputation for delivering expert advice across the entire property lifecycle, from feasibility and funding through to design, project delivery and asset management.
The London office has been established for around 18 months and is already building an impressive portfolio of work across the education, healthcare, commercial and residential sectors. With a strong business development pipeline already in place, the team are now looking to appoint a technically capable Building Surveyor who can take ownership of project work, contract administration and technical delivery while working alongside experienced surveyors and project managers. You'll benefit from genuine responsibility from day one, varied projects and a clear progression pathway into Project Management if desired.
This role would suit someone with a solid grounding in project-focused Building Surveying who enjoys seeing projects through from inception to completion. MRICS is welcomed but not essential, with full support available for chartership and ongoing professional development.

Building Surveyor Job Overview
- Deliver project-focused Building Surveying services across education, healthcare, commercial and residential sectors
- Undertake contract administration duties on refurbishment, improvement and capital works projects
- Prepare specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation
- Carry out technical surveys, inspections and defect diagnosis
- Produce reports, technical advice and feasibility studies
- Manage projects through all stages from inception to completion
- Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and wider project teams
- Attend site meetings and monitor project progress, quality and programme
- Support the continued growth of the London office alongside an experienced leadership team
Building Surveyor Job Requirements
- Previous experience as a Building Surveyor within a consultancy environment
- Good project delivery and contract administration experience
- Ability to prepare specifications, schedules of work and technical reports
- Experience across education, healthcare, commercial or residential projects would be advantageous
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Proactive, technically capable and keen to take ownership of projects
- Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline
- MRICS desirable but not essential, with support available towards chartership
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
