Statutory Reporting & Data Analyst

This is a key analytical role supporting LCCA’s regulatory reporting, institutional performance monitoring, and data governance agenda.
As Statutory Reporting & Data Analyst, you will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of institutional data used for regulatory submissions and performance reporting. Working closely with the Head of Business Intelligence, Data Analytics & Reporting, you will manage complex statutory returns and provide high-quality insight to support institutional decision-making.
You will work collaboratively with Registry, Admissions, academic teams, and central data colleagues to ensure that institutional data is reliable, well-governed, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
Statutory Data Returns
· Prepare and manage regulatory data submissions including Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) Data Futures, HESES, and Graduate Outcomes returns.
· Ensure submissions are accurate, validated, and delivered in line with regulatory deadlines.
Maintain documentation and audit trails to support transparency and compliance.
Data Quality and Compliance
· Monitor and maintain the integrity of institutional data used in statutory reporting.
· Ensure compliance with requirements from the Office for Students (OfS) and other regulatory bodies.
· Investigate and resolve data anomalies in collaboration with Registry, Admissions, and academic teams.
Reporting and Performance Analysis
· Produce management information and performance reports for senior stakeholders.
· Support analysis related to TEF, league tables, and OfS B3 performance indicators including continuation, progression, and graduate outcomes.
· Provide insight to support institutional performance monitoring and regulatory readiness.
Data Systems and Analysis
· Extract, analyse, and validate student data using institutional systems and reporting tools.
· Support the development of automated reporting processes where appropriate.
· Work closely with the central Data & Analytics team to ensure alignment with institutional data definitions and governance frameworks.
Essential
· Experience managing statutory or regulatory data returns in Higher Education.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage complex datasets.
· Advanced Excel skills and strong data validation capability.
· Experience producing management reporting for senior stakeholders.
· Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and regulatory compliance.
Desirable
· Experience working with HESA reporting frameworks, including Data Futures.
· Knowledge of Office for Students regulatory metrics, including B3 indicators.
· Experience using SQL, Power BI, or other reporting tools.
· Familiarity with student information systems and higher education data environments.
