SharePoint Technology Specialist - 6 month fixed-term contract - £60,000 - £65,000

Join us and be part of a mission-driven, independent publisher. You’ll work with a diverse group of people who share a passion for empowering researchers, educators, and institutions to shape the future.

About Sage:

Sage is a global academic publisher of books, journals, and library resources with a growing range of technologies to enable discovery, access, and engagement. Believing that research and education are critical in shaping society, Sara Miller McCune founded Sage in 1965. Today, we are controlled by a group of trustees charged with maintaining our independence and mission indefinitely.

Our guaranteed independence means we’re free to:

  • Do more – supporting an equitable academic future, furthering disciplines that drive social change, and helping social and behavioural science make an impact

  • Work together – building lasting relationships, championing diverse perspectives, and co-creating resources to transform teaching and learning

  • Think long-term – experimenting, taking risks, and investing in new ideas

About our Team:

Our Digital Workplace team is dedicated to helping Sage colleagues work smarter, collaborate more effectively, and unlock the full value of technology. We champion the use of Microsoft 365, AI-powered tools such as Copilot, and emerging workplace technologies to improve productivity, knowledge sharing, and employee experience across the business.

Working closely with colleagues across Sage, including Technology, Digital Workplace, Information Security, Change & Enablement teams, and business stakeholders, we combine technical expertise with a customer-focused approach to build solutions that simplify work, improve collaboration, and drive measurable outcomes. Through coaching, enablement, community building, and continuous innovation, we empower colleagues to adopt technology and solve challenges independently.

Could you be our new SharePoint Technology Specialist? Are you?

  • An experienced SharePoint professional who has successfully delivered site development, administration, or transformation projects that improved user experience, collaboration, or business outcomes?

  • Able to demonstrate strong expertise across Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, and other cloud-based productivity technologies, applying them to solve real business challenges?

  • Someone who has planned, coordinated, or supported SharePoint migration projects, helping organisations modernise content, improve governance, or enhance ways of working?

  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality outcomes across several projects, products, or initiatives simultaneously?

  • A confident communicator who can explain technical concepts clearly and facilitate productive discussions both one-to-one and with larger groups?

  • Skilled at building trusted relationships, influencing decisions, and collaborating with colleagues and partners to identify practical solutions to complex challenges?

  • Experienced in delivering technical support, training, coaching, or enablement activities that increase user adoption, capability, and confidence with digital tools?

  • Passionate about technology, AI, continuous learning, and innovation, with a track record of finding opportunities to improve productivity and helping others embrace change?

Your new role:

You will play a key role in shaping how professionals throughout Sage collaborate, share knowledge, and work more effectively. You'll combine technical expertise with a passion for problem-solving to build and deliver modern SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions. These solutions improve efficiency, user experience, and information management.

You'll lead SharePoint modernisation initiatives, advise on best practices, promote adoption of Microsoft 365 and AI technologies, and help create a culture of continuous learning. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys blending technology, collaboration, enablement, and innovation to create meaningful business impact.

  • Deliver modern SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions that improve collaboration, productivity, and information sharing across Sage.

  • Lead and successfully implement SharePoint site migrations from Classic to Modern experiences, ensuring strong adoption, minimal disruption, and positive user outcomes.

  • Collaborating and working with a high function team to improve productivity across the organisation.

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify business challenges and co-create scalable, user-centred SharePoint and Power Platform solutions.

  • Define and promote governance, architecture standards, and best practices that improve consistency, security, and long-term sustainability.

  • Create engaging learning content, guidance, and adoption programmes that increase confidence and capability across Microsoft 365 and AI technologies.

  • Develop and maintain intuitive, accessible, and visually engaging SharePoint environments aligned to business goals and user needs.

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor, providing expert guidance, troubleshooting support, and recommendations that enable colleagues to work more effectively.

  • Share knowledge through presentations, articles, demonstrations, and community engagement that drive awareness and adoption of productivity technologies.

Overview of benefits:

  • 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) with 2 additional floating personal days.

  • Hybrid working up to 2 days per week in office and a home working allowance.

  • Life assurance, income protection, and travel insurance.

  • Private medical cover and access to the company doctor.

  • Tuition scheme and support for pursuing professional qualifications, including access to Sage books and journals.

  • Variety of snacks and beverages available in the office.

  • Healthy lifestyle reimbursement and anniversary trips.

  • Access to Company loans (season ticket loan, rental deposit loan, cycle loan).
