VP, Media Relations
We are working with a leading global investment manager to appoint a VP Media Relations to sit in a senior capacity as part of an international communications team, taking the lead on media activity across EMEA and Asia Pacific. The position offers the chance to shape and deliver an integrated media strategy, working closely with PR agencies, journalists, investment teams, and senior leadership. From fund launches and capital raising to thought leadership and corporate campaigns, this role is central to how the firm builds, protects, and enhances its reputation.
The successful candidate will be involved in:
- Developing and executing media relations strategies across EMEA and Asia Pacific in partnership with external PR agencies
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key financial, trade, and business journalists
- Proactively identifying news opportunities and ensure the firm’s voice is present in influential publications
- Supporting corporate announcements including transactions, fund launches, and senior leadership changes
- Managing and protect brand reputation through effective issues and crisis communications
- Planning and delivering media campaigns aligned with product and corporate marketing initiatives
- Drafting and editing high-quality press releases, speeches, talking points, and other external communications
- Monitoring media coverage and provide detailed reporting and insights to senior management
- Ensuring consistent alignment with global corporate messaging and broader marketing strategy
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven media relations experience within financial services; real estate sector exposure would be advantageous
- Strong network of journalist relationships across financial, trade, and business press
- Track record of planning and executing cross-border media campaigns
- Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly
- Confident working with senior executives and advising on media strategy
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Collaborative team player comfortable working in a culturally diverse, international environment
