Senior Store Design & Visual Merchandising Manager

Reports To: Chief Marketing Officer

Role Overview

The Senior Store Design and Visual Merchandising Manager is responsible for defining and delivering a best-in-class, multi-brand beauty retail environment that seamlessly balances brand storytelling, commercial performance, and customer experience. In a dynamic, multi-brand setting, this role is key to creating a cohesive and elevated in-store journey while showcasing a diverse portfolio of beauty brands across skincare, makeup, fragrance, haircare and Space NK own brand. You will lead the strategy and execution of store design and visual merchandising to ensure clarity, excitement, and ease of navigation—driving our customer KPI’s and brand equity.

Key Responsibilities

Store Design & Retail Environment

• Lead the design and development of new stores, refurbishments, upsizes, and pop-up formats.

• Create flexible, modular store concepts that accommodate multiple brands while maintaining a strong overarching retail identity.

• Design intuitive customer journeys that simplify navigation across categories and brands.

• Incorporate high-touch beauty experiences such as testing zones, consultation areas, brand and service spaces.

• Ensure store environments support both self-led discovery and assisted selling. Multi-Brand Visual Merchandising Strategy

• Define and implement visual merchandising frameworks that balance individual brand guidelines with overall store coherence.

• Develop clear zoning strategies (by category, brand, or need-state) to enhance shopability and drive conversion.

• Oversee the execution of brand launches, animations, and promotional campaigns across multiple suppliers.

• Ensure consistency in standards while allowing appropriate differentiation for premium and emerging brands.

• Optimize product placement using data, insights, and performance metrics. Brand & Supplier Collaboration

• Act as the key interface between Space NK and our brand partners on all design and VM matters.

• Translate diverse brand identities into a unified in-store experience without compromising individual brand equity.

• Manage brand guidelines, approvals, and space allocation within stores.

• Collaborate with suppliers on fixtures, displays, and branded environments.

Customer Experience & Innovation

• Champion a customer-first approach, designing environments that encourage exploration, trial, and education.

• Integrate digital and experiential elements such as virtual try-on, skin diagnostics, and interactive displays.

• Stay ahead of trends in beauty retail, experiential design, and omnichannel integration.

• Continuously evolve store concepts to reflect changing customer behaviours and expectations. Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing store design and visual merchandising team.

• Establish clear processes, standards, and ways of working across teams and store formats.

• Foster a collaborative, agile, and creative culture.

Project & Budget Management

• Oversee end-to-end project delivery across multiple store formats.

• Manage budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships effectively.

• Ensure quality, consistency, and cost efficiency across all executions.

Key Requirements

• Extensive experience in store design and visual merchandising within multi-brand beauty, cosmetics, or premium retail environments.

• Strong understanding of the complexities of multi-brand retail, including brand partnerships and space management.

• Proven ability to create cohesive retail environments that balance multiple identities.

• Deep understanding of customer behaviour in beauty retail, including trial, consultation, and assisted selling.

• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to link visual strategy to customer goals and sales performance.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, particularly with external brand partners.

• Inspirational leadership and team development experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Visual Merchandising, or a related discipline.

• Experience across multiple retail formats (flagship, concessions, travel retail, e-commerce integration).

• Familiarity with digital retail technologies and omnichannel experiences.

Success Measures

• Delivery of a cohesive, premium in-store experience across all brands and categories.

• Strong execution of brand launches and in-store activations.

• Increased customer engagement, dwell time, and conversion rates.

• Effective collaboration and satisfaction of brand partners.

• On-time, on-budget delivery of store design and VM projects.

• High-performing and engaged team.

Why Join Us

• Play a pivotal role in shaping a leading multi-brand beauty destination.

• Work with an exciting portfolio of global and emerging beauty brands.

• Drive innovation at the intersection of retail design, customer experience, and brand storytelling.
