Our offices are in London, Macclesfield and Manchester. We are open to applications from all over the UK as we have remote and flexible hybrid working policies.

Lucid Consulting brings depth of expertise in the research, development and commercialisation of solutions across therapeutic areas and modalities by streamlining product development, building operational capabilities, innovating, and supporting execution to create value for patients, clients and shareholders.
US MedComms works with both US and Global brand teams to create powerful medical communications solutions for early lifecycle assets.
US Marketing works with clients across the Rx, Medical Device, OTC and Consumer Device categories to deliver compelling communications and promotional solutions to Healthcare Professionals for in-market assets.
ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Medical Writer to join a dynamic team with a strong track record of building long-term strategic partnerships and delivering best-in-class medical education for a client priding on a blockbuster agent portfolio, competitive pipeline, and innovative therapy types.
A Principal Medical Writer is a key member of the Medical team, and are responsible for delivering strategic and scientific value that aligns with the clients’ plan. They are ambassadors for Lucid Group, helping build the profile and client base of the Company.
You will be responsible for:
Playing an active role in building strategy with our clients based on their excellent knowledge of therapy area and highest standards of writing
Being an invaluable scientific and strategic partner for clients
Collaborating with the account management team to build and advance client partnerships
Responsible for delivering best-in-class medical communications for our clients by playing an active role in supporting the Executive Scientific Director/Scientific Director to build our scientific strategy based on your excellent knowledge of therapy areas and the client's commercial objectives
Ensuring the integration of core editorial processes and best-practice writing principles within project teams
Working autonomously to develop content against an agreed brief to the above principles, when required
Being the key figure for scientific review for the highest level of factual accuracy, alignment to scientific strategy and adherence to regulatory requirements/code, to deliver best-in-class programmes
Working efficiently across company divisions and teams to ensure excellence is always delivered for all projects, on time and on budget
Training, mentoring others and co-creating and implementing processes that improve efficiency
Championing excellent standards in everything you are involved in and around you
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Essential Criteria:
A degree in a scientific, medical or life sciences field
Experience managing their own time in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Experience working in an agile environment
Experience working collaboratively and efficiently in a cross-capability team
Experience writing for a variety of medical/scientific audiences
Proven ability to create high-quality medical/scientific content
Experience delivering a wide variety of medical writing outputs
Experience working in a healthcare communications agency environment
Competent and confident being a therapy area expert
Competent and confident contributing to medical/scientific discussions
Proven ability to build professional external partnerships through their work
Experience in reviewing colleagues' medical writing
Experience in coaching or mentoring others
Desirable Criteria:
Experience creating content for digital/online and omnichannel outputs
Competent and confident giving strategic counsel
Experience in leading a high-performing team
Experience in managing projects, including resourcing and budgeting
Experience in line-management and development of other medical writers
Proven ability to delegate appropriately
Proven ability to build therapy area expertise in narrow timeframes
