Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join a dynamic team in Romford . This is an exciting opportunity to support patients in an acute hospital setting, working primarily with stroke or neurosciences caseloads .
Whether you’re looking for full-time or part-time work, this flexible role is ideal for a Band 6 or 7 therapist with a strong background in acute adult care and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred therapy.
Key Responsibilities
Provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for adults with communication and swallowing disorders, with a focus on stroke and neurological conditions.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
Contribute to early supported discharge planning and ongoing rehabilitation.
Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with professional standards.
Engage in clinical supervision, audits, and service development initiatives where required.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
Current HCPC registration.
Proven experience working with adults in an acute hospital setting.
Specific experience with stroke or neurosciences patients.
Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and team collaboration skills.
