London

Location: Ealing, West London
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Start Date: ASAP / Next Term
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the London Borough of Ealing is seeking a committed and nurturing EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join its Early Years team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive, child-centred environment that places inclusion, emotional wellbeing, and early intervention at the heart of its practice.

About the School

This two-form entry primary school serves a diverse local community and is proud of its inclusive ethos. The Early Years provision is well-resourced, thoughtfully structured, and staffed by a highly experienced team who work collaboratively to ensure every child is supported to achieve their full potential. The school has strong leadership, clear behaviour expectations, and a culture of mutual respect and professional development.

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with children in Nursery and Reception who have a range of Special Educational Needs , including autism spectrum condition (ASC), speech and language needs, global developmental delay, and social, emotional and mental health needs.

You will provide:

  • Targeted 1:1 and small-group support

  • Assistance with communication, interaction, and play-based learning

  • Support with personal care where required

  • Observational feedback to inform planning and assessments

You will work under the direction of the class teacher, SENCo, and EYFS Lead, contributing to EHCP targets and early intervention strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils’ access to the EYFS curriculum through structured play and adult-led activities

  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence

  • Implement strategies recommended by external professionals (e.g. speech and language therapists, occupational therapists)

  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and engagement

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with SEN in an EYFS or primary setting

  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and emotional intelligence

  • Understands child development and early learning frameworks

  • Can work effectively as part of a team

  • Is proactive, reflective, and willing to learn

Relevant qualifications or training in childcare, education, or SEN are desirable but not essential.

What the School Offers

  • A supportive and welcoming staff team

  • Ongoing SEN and EYFS training opportunities

  • Clear guidance and mentoring

  • Well-resourced classrooms and outdoor provision

  • Opportunities for progression within education

This role would suit someone passionate about making a real difference during a child’s earliest years of education.
