The Sales & Service finance team are business partners for the Chief Operating Officer's function, which encompasses Supply Chain (SC), Service Operations (SO), CMC (Customer Management Centre), Retail, and Online channels. Additionally, the role collaborates with the wider Sales & Service team to accomplish growth ambitions.
Reporting to the Head of Finance - this position plays a pivotal role in the delivery of SC, SO & CMC business outcomes through managing the performance update process identifying key opportunities and challenges.
Managing key processes for the team, the role is responsible for the forecasting process, ensuring clear communication to stakeholders of expected outcomes and actively challenging forecasts to enhance accuracy.
Role overview:
As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Manage the production of business unit performance packs, engage with stakeholders to report on key metrics driving performance and drive continuous improvement in the quality within the packs
- Review forecasted project expenditure with the CSS programme team and work with Finance Business Partners and Head of Finance to ensure proposed submission aligns with project plans and an accurate reflection of cash out expectations
- Manage the P&L forecasting process including determining the timeline, review sessions and setting clear deliverables.
- Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to consolidate Operations, Channels and Services submissions and present consolidated outcomes to Head of Finance and Finance Director. Load approved forecasts (where required)
- Enhance your understanding of the SC, SO & CMC business units and leverage this knowledge to actively question and influence Finance Business Partners during performance and forecast updates
- Deputise for Finance Business Partners within the team when required
- Operate autonomously on a day-to-day basis, seeking out guidance where ambiguity exists and coordinating Finance delivery across several SC&SO teams.
- Consistently question existing processes and actively pursue enhancements in collaboration with the team and stakeholders, fostering continual improvement in ways of working.
You will need:
- Strong commercial acumen, familiar with comprehending complex business areas to identify opportunities and areas for improvement
- The ability to build strong relationships with Finance and non-Finance stakeholders to influence and provide constructive challenges
- robust written and verbal communication skills, to communicate complex messages in a compelling manner with senior stakeholders
- Outcome focused with a track record of delivering end to end solutions
- Resilience with a track record of delivering results in high-pressure environments
- organisational skills, capable of meeting deadlines while maintaining a focus on detail
- Excellent system skills including MS Excel, Essbase and SAP
- Degree or equivalent in relevant field
- Recognised Accountancy Qualification (ACA, CIMA or ACCA).
