Core Java Developer Fintech

Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Core Java Developer to join our high profile client.

Our client is a 20 man financial software business who create a niche modeling and behavior monitoring application for financial markets.

The Java code is very well written and well factored. Source control is GitHub, it has a comprehensive test suite, it’s nicely commented throughout, has technical documentation and is built using a comprehensive Maven object model

This innovative start-up is pioneering a new concept for the financial markets. The most important part of their product will be the enterprise-grade java based technology platform. This is a unique green field development opportunity that will allow you to play a part in shaping the future of finance and be rewarded accordingly.

This role is second to the CTO and allows a developer to take responsibility for code, as well as architecture of the product. You will be completely hands on but have aspirations for higher things.

Development is agile and fast paced. The day begins with a short scrum at which tasks will be distributed and any road-blocks cleared. Work is test driven, with unit tests implemented first to be run in our continuous integration environment. Only then do they write code. As requirements evolve you will re-factor and our unit test suite. To deliver quickly you will leverage the best of the open source community, sometimes substituting your own solutions where greater performance is needed. You will be encouraged to evangelise and prototype new technologies and through doing so you will help shape the architecture.

Candidates Must Have:

• 4 years commercial experience
• Server side multi-threaded core Java
• JMS and asynchronous MOM architectures
• Serious exposure to Core Java (not siloed amateurs)
• Spring initiatives such as Core Spring, Spring Integration and Spring Batch
• JUnit and TestNG
• Ideally Redis
• Ideally interest in functional programming
• SQL and Oracle
• Experience leading small development teams.
• Experience of Relational Databases
• Ideally Maven
