Legal Counsel (Fixed Term to Permanent)

We are supporting a leading European private equity firm that is looking for a UK-qualified lawyer to join its lean and high performing legal team. This is a fixed term contract with a view to permanent and they are looking for someone who can start within one to two weeks.

The firm has its headquarters in Paris and a key hub in London. You will work closely with the General Counsel, the Head of Compliance and the Head of Funds Legal, supporting a broad range of EMEA governance and internal legal matters.

The role

You will take ownership of a wide variety of internal legal and governance work, including:

• Corporate governance across multiple EMEA entities

• Board and committee support

• Preparation and maintenance of corporate records, resolutions and approvals

• Coordination with internal teams to ensure governance processes are followed

• Support on AIFMD related governance tasks

• Regulatory and compliance support alongside the Head of Compliance

• Working with external counsel on governance matters

• Assisting with internal approval flows for transactions and projects

• General support to the GC across the legal and operational lifecycle

This is not a fund formation or deal execution role. It is a core internal position supporting the smooth running of the legal and governance framework across the private equity platform.

About you

• UK-qualified solicitor

• Ideally based in London

• Experience in corporate governance, funds legal, financial services or private equity

• Comfortable working in a lean, senior facing team

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Able to start immediately or within one to two weeks

• French language skills are helpful but not required

• PQE range is open from 2 to 8 years
