The role: Finance apprentice, a junior role at the heart of our growing business

Design Portfolio and Kalago Digital, subsidiaries of Encompass Agency Group Limited, are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Finance apprentice.

Following an accredited apprenticeship route, the principal role will be positioned to provide assistance within our centralised Finance team. The role also includes some varied general office tasks, including reception duties.

This is a full-time position based on a 37.5 hour per week contract, of which 20% of this time will be assigned to college work whether that be at college or studying independently.

Main responsibilities

Finance

• Reconciling the company Credit Cards

• Coding and processing purchase invoices

• Reconciling petty cash

• Managing creditor accounts and adding accounts, as required

• Assisting in fortnightly preparation of a supplier payment list

• Maintaining Fixed Asset register

• Assisting with financial audit

• Raising sales Invoices

• Preparing monthly client statements

• Reconciling Banks

• Assistance with ad hoc financial reporting

General office duties

• Booking in, greeting and looking after guests

• Managing of post and booking couriers

• Keeping the office stocked with stationery and supplies

• Preparing meeting rooms for guests

• Answering external calls

• Ad hoc office duties

Apprenticeship standard

A Finance Apprentice (AAT Level 2) is an entry-level qualification in accounting, equivalent to achieving a GCSE (grade 9-4). That equips apprentices with skills such as foundational bookkeeping, accounting software and data recording skills.

Training programme length - 12-15 months

Training provider - Approved AAT apprenticeship provider

End-Point Assessment (EPA)

We anticipate the EPA being completed within no less than 12 months and one day, and no more than 18 months. As part of the End Point Assessment (EPA), apprentices will be expected to complete:

• an interview enabling apprentices to demonstrate competence to the highest level against the KSBs mapped to this assessment method; and

• an integrated knowledge test, which covers the knowledge and skills as indicated in the scope of content. The integrated knowledge test must be delivered after the interview has been attempted.

Requirements

For this role, we are looking for a candidate who:

• has a minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades 9-4 or equivalent), including Maths and English Language.

• is a team-player who is motivated to develop their skills and knowledge by way of on-the-job training and the apprenticeship opportunity; and

• is able to work from home (due to hybrid working).
