The Role:

As Strategic Delivery Coordinator you can make your own powerful contribution to Westminster’s success. Joining a small, dynamic team within our high profile Corporate Programme Management Office, you’ll be working at the heart of the council’s exciting transformation agenda, and be exposed to some of our most innovative and ambitious programmes. Collaborating with your colleagues, other teams and a diverse range of stakeholders to coordinate strategic reporting, you’ll ensure that deliverables and KPIs are completed to the highest standards and deliver great benefits for the people we serve.

Day to day you’ll assist with the planning, coordination, growth and development of programmes across the Strategic Priority Portfolio, monitor and support the necessary governance, and support programme and project managers as they work to keep things running smoothly. Coordinating communications and helping to manage your colleagues’ assignments, workloads and schedules, we’ll also expect you to oversee budgets, maintain records, reports, presentations and proposals, and supervise the use of the communication technologies we use.

But your work won’t stop here – you’ll also facilitate focus groups, encourage your colleagues to come up with creative ideas, and work with business strategists and innovators to help them understand the opportunities available to our organisation. Committed to facilitating positive interactions between the programme team and other relevant departments and interested parties, we’ll also expect you to maintain an up-to-date understanding of key stakeholders within the relevant business area.

Please refer to the for more information.

About You:

To be a success in this fast-paced role you should have experience of reporting on and delivering projects in a Local Authority, and possess a keen interest in how we can improve the delivery of our complex change agenda. Capable of building positive relationships with stakeholders, and with the confidence to challenge delivery teams and senior leaders on their plans, you’ll be an inspirational project manager with the skills to understand, assimilate, interpret and communicate complex information to a range of technical and non-technical audiences.

A brilliant communicator and presenter with excellent organisational and time-management skills, you’ll possess the ability to assess and evaluate risk, and have a proactive attitude to problem solving. Always ready to keep up to speed with the latest ideas and knowledge, and with a good appreciation of how your work will contribute to wider outcomes, it’s also important that you have a broad understanding of the work of Local Government Authorities, and how unnecessary bureaucracy and structures can suppress innovation, creativity and delivery.

This is a role where your collaborative team playing skills will come to the fore, and in addition to being a great role model, we’ll expect you to be a self-motivated and resourceful critical thinker with plenty of emotional intelligence and initiative. Your strong interpersonal and influencing skills will see you building relationships with a diverse range of people at all levels, while your ability to identify the main issues in complex problems will allow you to clarify expectations and find the best solution. When it comes to formal education, a project management qualification would be desirable.
