Salary: £130 – £160 per day (Experience dependent)

A high-achieving secondary school in the City of Westminster is seeking a dedicated Attendance Officer to join their pastoral support team. This is a pivotal role where your work directly impacts student attainment and wellbeing.
The Role
Working at the heart of the school's administrative and pastoral hub, you will be responsible for maintaining high attendance standards across the student body.
Daily Monitoring: Manage the morning registration process, identifying "unexplained" absences and making first-day calls to parents.
Family Liaison: Conduct home visits and hold meetings with parents to identify and remove barriers to regular school attendance.
Data Analysis: Use SIMS or Bromcom to track attendance trends, producing weekly reports for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Legal Compliance: Prepare documentation for the Local Authority regarding fines and legal interventions for persistent absenteeism.
The Candidate
Experience: Previous experience as an Attendance Officer, Family Liaison Officer, or in a similar school-based pastoral role is essential.
Communication Skills: The ability to remain calm and professional during difficult conversations with parents and carers.
Software Proficiency: Strong ICT skills, specifically with school management systems like SIMS, Bromcom, or Arbor.
Local Knowledge: An understanding of the unique challenges facing families in Central London is a distinct advantage.
