Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Paid to scale

We are seeking a dedicated, organised and proactive Attendance Officer to join an inclusive and well-structured secondary school in Hackney. This is a key role within the pastoral and administrative team, focused on promoting excellent attendance, supporting students and ensuring that robust systems are in place to monitor and improve attendance across the school.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily monitoring and recording of student attendance, ensuring that registers are accurate and that absences are followed up promptly. You will work closely with pastoral leaders, teaching staff and families to identify patterns of absence and implement appropriate interventions to support students in attending regularly and punctually.

This role requires someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage sensitive situations professionally. You will be expected to build positive relationships with students and families, helping to remove barriers to attendance and supporting the school’s commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.

As Attendance Officer, you will analyse attendance data, produce reports and contribute to strategies that promote high levels of attendance. You will also ensure that all procedures are compliant with school policies and statutory requirements.

Students are respectful, engaged and determined to succeed, contributing to a calm and purposeful learning environment.

The school offers a broad and ambitious curriculum that supports both academic achievement and personal development. Students are prepared well for further education and future careers. Staff benefit from a collaborative professional culture, strong leadership and a clear focus on professional development. Support staff are integral to the success of the school and are highly valued.

Attendance is a key priority, and the school has strong systems in place to support students and families. You will be joining a committed pastoral team that works closely together to ensure every student has the best possible chance to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
