Director, Fitch Group Strategy

Fitch Group is currently seeking a Director, Fitch Group Strategy based out of our New York or London office.
Reporting to the Fitch Group CFO, Group Strategy provides strategic research, advice, and support to the businesses within the Fitch Group. Using a data-driven approach, we are also responsible for analysing the success of strategic initiatives around the firm and supporting M&A activity. Projects are varied and change according to the needs of the business, as directed by the senior leadership team.
The team is looking to hire a Director to help create and deliver strategic analyses to our Executive leadership team, uncover key market and competitive trends and support company strategic positioning.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Lead research and analysis projects for senior stakeholders, providing insight and recommendations on a wide range of strategic topics
- Communicate key findings relating to strategy, tactics and change initiatives in a clear and compelling way
- Based on understanding of our businesses, the broader market and your own reading and research, proactively suggest ideas for further investigation or discussion to provide additional value to stakeholders
- Build relationships with stakeholders across The Fitch Group businesses to better understand their needs and priorities
- Source data and research from a wide range of internal and external sources, to build clear insights on Fitch’s business performance and competitive positioning
- Work closely with Strategy team members, supporting senior team leaders as needed, along with mentoring junior team members
- Own aspects of monthly and quarterly reporting for senior management
- Clean and analyse large data sets and perform quality checks
You May be a Good Fit if:
- 5-7 years of proven track record leading strategic research and analysis projects
- Good analytical and critical thinking skills, with experience in analysing data sets, organizing results effectively and proposing solutions; Eagerness to learn, solve problems, and collaborate
- Experience in building business cases / presentations that identify important trends and deliver data-driven insights
- Clear and concise written / verbal communication skills; able to present a compelling story using data and quantitative metrics, and confidently deliver it to senior management stakeholders; Strong data visualisation skills, mainly using PowerPoint although knowledge of other data visualisation tools beneficial
- Excellent organizational skills and strong time management, with the ability to manage a range of projects and tasks at the same time, and meet varying deadlines
- Advanced Excel / PowerPoint skills ; Excellent attention to detail and the ability to remain organized and multi-task
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, economics, or similar analytical field
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Working knowledge of the Fitch Group business lines and products; Prior experience with/knowledge of Ratings agencies, or the debt capital markets; Consulting experience a plus
- Experience with Power BI, Alteryx and reporting analytics suites
