Product Manager, Vault & Forward API

checkout.com
London

Company Description

We’re Checkout.com . You might not know our name, but companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony do, because we’re behind many of the digital experiences you use every day.

We are where the world checks out, enabling over 10 billion transactions yearly for more than one billion global shoppers.

Whether you want to book a holiday, order food, renew a subscription, or check out online, there’s a good chance our tech powers the payments behind the scenes. Our platform helps the most ambitious businesses deliver effortless digital experiences, at scale.

If you want to do career-defining work, you’ve come to the right place. We move fast, think globally, and believe great teams are built by hiring exceptional people with conviction, curiosity, and the desire to make an impact.

With 20 offices across six continents and London as our HQ, we’re shaping the future of fintech – and we’re just getting started.

Join Checkout.com ’s Credential Lifecycle area and help shape one of our most strategic product spaces: how merchants store payment credentials once, keep them up to date, and use them across different payment providers.

Vault and Forward API sits at the heart of that problem. It helps merchants securely manage stored payment details and use them flexibly across different payment setups. This role is important because Checkout.com is investing in becoming the system of record for merchant payment credentials, and this product area is a key part of that growth strategy.

What you’ll own

  • Product strategy and execution for Vault and Forward API

  • The core experience for how merchants store, manage, and use payment credentials

  • Product capabilities across credential storage, forwarding, and portability

  • Close partnership with engineering and adjacent teams to improve reliability, merchant value, and adoption

  • Commercial inputs such as pricing, packaging, and performance metrics, in partnership with relevant stakeholders

  • Product positioning and enablement support for how Vault and Forward API is taken to market

What success looks like

In this role, success is likely to include:

  • Helping Vault and Forward API grow as a strategic part of the Credential Lifecycle business

  • Improving merchant adoption and product usage

  • Shaping a clear strategy for how payment credentials are stored, forwarded, and made portable

  • Delivering against roadmap priorities in a complex, infrastructure-heavy environment

  • Contributing to commercial outcomes through pricing, packaging, and product performance

What we’re looking for

Essential experience

  • Strong product management experience working on merchant-facing payments products in product-centric, high-growth environments

  • Direct experience working on vaulting, tokenisation, stored credentials, forwarding APIs, or closely related payment credential infrastructure

  • Comfort working in technical, API-led, infrastructure-heavy product environments

  • Ability to create structure in ambiguous problem spaces and work closely with engineering

Strongly preferred

  • Experience with network tokens, account updater, credential portability, or related payment lifecycle products

  • Familiarity with PCI DSS and the product implications of secure payment data handling
