Infant Feeding Specialist Midwife

King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Orpington, Greater London

Job overview

Do you have a passion for cardiology nursing?

Would you like to be a part of our wonderful team in delivering excellent cardiac care to our patients at King’s College Hospital?

If the answer is yes, then look no further. Exciting opportunities have arisen for a motivated and dedicated nurse with an interest in, and ideally experience in, cardiac nursing to join our friendly and supportive team on the Coronary Care Unit (Sam Oram CCU).

King’s College Hospital is a well-recognised Heart Attack Centre for London and the Southeast of England. We provide a 24-hour, seven-days-a-week Primary Angioplasty in Myocardial Infarction (PAMI) service. As a tertiary care centre, the CCU and Sam Oram Ward work closely together to provide specialist care to patients with a variety of cardiac conditions. We receive both elective and emergency admissions and have dedicated teams for heart failure, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI).

The Coronary Care Unit is an 8-bedded monitored area providing Level 2 care for acutely ill patients requiring inotropic support, intra-aortic balloon pumps, non-invasive ventilation, and temporary pacing.

Main duties of the job

The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) is a fast-paced environment caring for Level 2 patients. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who will uphold the values of King’s College Hospital.

On a day-to-day basis, you will provide a high standard of nursing care to cardiac patients. You will work closely with the Cardiac Catheter Lab, Sam Oram Ward, and the Emergency Department to support a smooth patient pathway.

You will also collaborate with management, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and the wider multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care through various quality improvement initiatives.
