Nursery Room Leader

Willing Care Recruitment Limited
West Ham, Greater London

Nursery Room Leader – Up to £31,500 | Full-Time | All Year Round

Located in a convenient area with excellent transport links, the nursery offers a large, modern environment and a beautiful outdoor garden and play area where children are encouraged to explore, learn, and thrive.

The service is now looking for a confident, compassionate, and experienced Nursery Room Leader to join its team on a full-time, all-year-round basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role within a friendly and inclusive nursery that truly values its staff and supports ongoing development.

The Nursery Room Leader will take the lead in one of their rooms, supporting a team of practitioners in delivering high-quality early education and care. This role involves creating a warm and engaging environment where every child feels safe, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

You’ll help guide daily routines, plan activities in line with the EYFS framework, and build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
  • Previous experience in a leadership or senior practitioner role within a nursery setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and people-management skills.
  • A caring, inclusive, and child-centred approach to early years education.

What’s on Offer

  • Training and clear progression opportunities to support your career development.
  • Discounted childcare for staff.
  • Access to a benefits portal with retail and lifestyle discounts.
  • Wellbeing support and a dedicated staff wellbeing programme.
  • Christmas and New Year closure to enjoy quality time with loved ones.
  • Competitive pension scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a designated nursery room, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for children.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS.
  • Support, mentor, and inspire a team of practitioners, encouraging best practices and professional growth.
  • Build positive partnerships with parents and carers, keeping them informed and engaged in their child’s development.
  • Uphold strong safeguarding, health and safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Contribute to a positive nursery culture where collaboration and kindness are valued.
