We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and motivated Year 3 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barnet, starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for a Key Stage 2 teacher who enjoys teaching lower KS2 and is passionate about supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.

The school has a strong community ethos and a supportive leadership team that prioritises collaboration, high standards, and staff wellbeing. Teachers are encouraged to be creative, reflective, and innovative in their approach, delivering engaging lessons that inspire and challenge pupils.

As a Year 3 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the curriculum, ensuring pupils consolidate their learning from Key Stage 1 while developing independence, resilience, and key skills to succeed in upper KS2.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Year 3 curriculum

  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress accurately

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN and EAL

  • Promote positive behaviour, independence, and high expectations

  • Create a structured, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress

  • Contribute to planning sessions, staff meetings, and school initiatives

  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development

  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

  • Have recent experience teaching in KS2, ideally Year 3

  • Be confident delivering the KS2 curriculum

  • Have strong classroom management, organisational, and planning skills

  • Be reflective, enthusiastic, and pupil-focused

  • Be a positive team player with excellent communication skills

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

The school is located in Barnet, with excellent transport links and a welcoming, diverse community. Staff benefit from a collaborative working culture, supportive leadership, and opportunities for professional development. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ learning and personal growth.
