An established secondary school in South East London is looking for an experienced Estates & Operations Manager to oversee its facilities, site management and operational services.

This permanent role offers the chance to play a central part in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. You'll work alongside senior leaders and the wider estates network to ensure the school operates efficiently today while supporting longer-term improvements to its facilities.

Your Responsibilities

You'll have responsibility across a broad range of operational areas, including:

  • Ensuring the site is safe, secure and operational each day

  • Managing planned preventative and reactive maintenance

  • Coordinating contractors and checking work meets agreed standards

  • Overseeing building, mechanical, electrical, cleaning and security services

  • Managing statutory inspections, risk assessments and compliance records

  • Leading on fire safety, emergency procedures and first aid provision

  • Managing operational purchasing and allocated budgets

  • Supporting site development and improvement projects

  • Managing staff and external contractors involved in facilities services

  • Acting as a key contact for site-related issues and emergencies

The Person

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience from estates, facilities, property, operations or site management.

You'll be someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards, can prioritise effectively and is comfortable managing both people and external contractors. You'll also have the confidence to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and deal professionally with sensitive or unexpected situations.

A full clean UK driving licence and good IT skills are essential.

Salary & Benefits

  • £40,388 – £43,607 per annum

  • Permanent, full-time opportunity
