Dagenham, Greater London

We are seeking a caring, patient, and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Dagenham, starting as soon as possible. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about supporting young children in the Early Years Foundation Stage and helping them develop essential skills for their first stage of formal education.

Staff work together to create a structured, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment where children feel confident, motivated, and safe. Senior leadership is approachable and provides mentoring, guidance, and professional development opportunities to support staff success.

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of children in Nursery and Reception. You will assist with delivering engaging lessons, supporting children individually and in small groups, and helping to create a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality EYFS lessons and activities

  • Assist children in developing social, emotional, and academic skills

  • Provide individual and small group support as needed

  • Observe, monitor, and contribute to assessments of children’s progress

  • Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment

  • Support daily routines, transitions, and personal care as required

  • Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and staff

  • Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives

  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working in an EYFS or early years setting

  • Be patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic

  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Be proactive, reliable, and adaptable

  • Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework

  • Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and child wellbeing

The school is located in Dagenham, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community. Staff benefit from a professional, inclusive, and well-resourced environment where collaboration, development, and wellbeing are prioritised.

How to Apply
