With new showrooms opening in Croydon, Glasgow and Newcastle, we’re on the lookout for energetic Sofa Hosts to help bring fashion home. If you thrive in a busy showroom, love connecting with people, and know how to turn browsers into buyers, this is your chance to #jointheclub.
Role Overview
This role is central to creating an unforgettable showroom experience. As a Sofa Host, you’ll be the first point of contact for our customers – welcoming them in, listening to their needs, and helping them find their dream sofa. From guiding them through the sales process to keeping the showroom stylish and on-brand, you’ll make sure every interaction feels easy, enjoyable, and memorable.
You’ll play a key role in driving sales, building trust with customers, and representing Sofa Club’s signature style on the showroom floor. Alongside delivering a standout service, you’ll sharpen your product knowledge, stay tuned in to the latest interiors trends, and work towards ambitious sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Assistance: Greet and engage with customers in a friendly, professional, and approachable way.
- Product Knowledge: Learn our sofa ranges inside-out, from materials and styles to features and functions.
- Sales Process: Guide customers through the full journey – from browsing to order completion.
- Customer Information: Provide clear advice on specifications, pricing, warranties, delivery, and aftercare.
- Closing Sales: Confidently overcome objections to secure sales while ensuring a positive experience.
- Customer Service: Handle questions, feedback, or complaints with professionalism and empathy.
- Visual Merchandising: Help maintain a showroom that looks stylish, inviting, and on-brand.
- Sales Targets: Hit (and exceed) your targets while celebrating wins with the team.
- Upselling & Cross-selling: Suggest additional items and protection plans to boost sales.
- Product Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitors to keep customers inspired.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in sales, ideally within furniture or retail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – a natural people person.
- Excellent customer service mindset with the drive to go the extra mile.
- Knowledge of furniture materials, design principles, or interiors (preferred).
- Confidence working both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic IT.
- Physical ability to move and arrange furniture (when needed).
What You’ll Get
- Competitive salary, commission & bonus scheme.
- Clear career progression opportunities as we continue to scale.
- Real creative input and freedom to shape the showroom experience.
- Supportive, ambitious team culture.
- 28 days holiday + bank holidays.
- Enhanced family leave.
- Health insurance.
- Friends & family discount.
- Salary sacrifice schemes.
Are you a perfect match?
- Ambitious? We have huge plans. There’s never been a better time to join Sofa Club. We are growing fast and need ambitious people to join us for the ride.
- Fun? We work hard and then let our hair down at our office prosecco bar (yes, really!).
- Do-er? Talk is cheap, execution is everything. Be a doer, not a talker.
- Friendly? We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We have a diverse and inclusive culture, everyone gets on well, and we work together as one family.
