SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £!04 per day
Contract: Full-time About the School: We are a supportive and inclusive primary school in Lambeth, providing specialist provision for pupils with high needs on the Autism Spectrum. Our High Needs ASD Base offers a structured and nurturing environment, enabling children to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The Role: We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our High Needs ASD Base. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to deliver tailored support, helping pupils access the curriculum, develop communication and social skills, and manage their emotions effectively. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with high needs.
Assist in planning and delivering personalised learning activities.
Implement behaviour management strategies and support emotional regulation.
Observe, record, and report on pupil progress to teachers and the SEN team.
Help maintain an inclusive, safe, and positive learning environment.
Support pupils in developing independence and life skills.Person Specification: Experience working with children with ASD and other SEN in a school or specialist setting.
Understanding of strategies for supporting high needs pupils, including communication and sensory needs.
Patient, empathetic, and adaptable with strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
