Health and Safety Advisor

REISS
London

What’s the role about?
We are looking for a proactive Health and Safety Advisor to support and develop Health and Safety practices, helping to mitigate risk to our people and business.

This role will support and own key aspects of Health and Safety across our Retail estate and Head Office locations, ensuring compliance with legislation, coordinating training, and driving continuous improvements for the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues and customers.

Who you are

  • A strong communicator, confident in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience in support Health & Safety initiatives is not essential to have, as training can be provided.
  • Able to influence and support teams at different levels, contributing to a positive safety culture in a retail and head office environment.
  • Well-organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver against priorities.
  • Detail-oriented, collaborative, and diligent in your approach.
  • Proactive in identifying risks and recommending practical solutions.
  • Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on, with a growth mindset and commitment to developing a career within Health & Safety.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting and owning key aspects of H&S delivery across the business, helping to build and maintain a strong safety culture.
  • Organising and leading regular H&S training, including fire marshal, first aid, fire safety, and general H&S sessions, as well as coordinating individual training requirements (including general and bespoke risk assessments and COSHH reviews).
  • Ensuring compliance with current H&S legislation and best practice, including reviewing H&S policies and Safe Systems of Work, and attending training to remain up to date.
  • Supporting the preparation and presentation of H&S data, monitoring trends and insight reports, and helping to drive actions from findings.
  • Liaising with external consultants and assessors to support audits, assessments, and compliance activities.
  • Leading or supporting incident investigations (depending on complexity), producing reports and recommending corrective actions.
  • Undertaking ad-hoc store visits and Head Office floor walks, reviewing internal and external H&S assessments, and ensuring all actions are followed up and completed in full.
  • Supporting daily checks in collaboration with the Office Manager, ensuring a consistent and compliant working environment.

What we’ll do for you

  • Competitive salary and company bonus.
  • Up to 65% employee discount.
  • Access to exclusive sample sales.
  • Health and wellbeing services.
  • Medicash health support plan.
  • Workplace pension contributions.
  • Enhanced parental leave policies.
  • Electric Vehicle scheme via Octopus Energy.
  • Cycle to Work programme.
  • Season ticket travel loan.
  • Plus further workplace benefits.
