Job Title: Teaching Assistant/Autism Practitioner
Location: Baston House School, Bromley, Kent BR2 7AB
Salary: £23,500 per annum ( not pro rata )
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8.30am-4.30pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Start: November 2025

About the Role
You’ll provide vital support to pupils, working alongside teachers and the multidisciplinary team to deliver personalised learning and care. From helping students thrive academically to supporting their social and emotional development, your role is key to creating an ASD-friendly, nurturing environment where every child can succeed.
This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about empowering young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing environment.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers to deliver tailored, high-quality education
- Provide one-on-one and group support to help students access the curriculum independently
- Organise resources and classroom environments that promote learning and wellbeing
- Collaborate on Behaviour Support Profiles, Risk Assessments, Education Plans, and more
- Ensure classroom equipment is well-maintained and used effectively

Qualifications:
- GCSEs in English and Maths

Baston House is an independent day specialist provider of education and care for young people and adults aged 5 to 19 years who have been diagnosed with Autism (ASC).
Baston House School ensures that our school environment supports learning and promotes the well-being of pupils and staff through a strong sense of community cohesion. Creating a sense of community, develop social understanding, improve well-being, enhance academic achievement, and develop independence are at the root of our school community. We work hard to provide a safe school where pupils are included in every aspect of school life.

*You’ll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, giving you more time to do the things that make you happy. 4DWW is subject to successful completion of probation and is not a contractual benefit
