Supporting disclosure exercises and identifying relevant material;
Assisting with the preparation and review of witness statements;
Preparing chronologies, summaries, briefing notes and other inquiry materials;
Supporting responses to formal requests for information and evidence;
Assisting with hearing preparation and wider case management;
Working closely with solicitors, counsel, paralegals and other members of the inquiry team; and
Handling sensitive and confidential information in accordance with the applicable security requirements.
Required Experience
Applicants must:
Be a qualified solicitor in England and Wales;
Have previous experience working on a public inquiry;
Have experience of disclosure, document review, witness evidence or other substantive inquiry work;
Understand the procedures, demands and sensitivities associated with major public inquiries;
Demonstrate strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail;
Be able to manage substantial volumes of complex information effectively; and

Experience gained on the COVID-19, Infected Blood, Post Office, Grenfell Tower or another major public inquiry would be particularly relevant.
Applications are welcomed from solicitors ranging from newly qualified to approximately 10 years’ PQE, although the opportunity is particularly suited to junior and mid-level associates.

Due to the nature of the work and the applicable security-clearance requirements, applicants must be British nationals and hold valid British passports.
Candidates who currently hold, or have previously held, security clearance are particularly encouraged to apply. Existing clearance is not essential, but successful candidates must be willing and able to complete the required clearance process.
