Production Assistant

Jolene London is a growing independent womenswear and accessories brand specialising in handmade statement coats and Mongolian wool bags.

As the brand grows, Jolene is looking for a Production Assistant to work alongside the founder in Shoreditch, London, helping produce coats and bags. Initially, the role will be 1 day per week, potentially increasing to 2 days per week depending on orders and upcoming drops.

This is a hands-on role and would suit someone who loves making clothes and accessories and wants to be involved in the early stages of growing an independent fashion brand, with the opportunity to become more involved as the business grows. The role is intended to grow alongside the brand, with the potential for increased hours, responsibility, and pay as production increases.

The Production Assistant will initially help with:

• Constructing and sewing Jolene coats and bags
• Cutting and working with fabrics, faux leather and Mongolian wool
• Adding trims, linings, labels and finishing details
• Helping improve construction and production methods
• Quality checking finished pieces
• Developing samples for future drops
• Helping find more efficient ways of producing pieces as the brand grows

What Jolene is looking for:

• Currently studying fashion, have graduated, or already have some experience in garment or accessories production.
• Confident using an industrial sewing machine
• Experience constructing garments and/or accessories
• Good understanding of garment construction and finishing
• Comfortable working independently once shown how a piece is made
• Able to bring their own technical knowledge and suggest improvements to how pieces are constructed and finished
• Excellent attention to detail
• Reliable and genuinely interested in fashion and small independent brands
• Some pattern cutting or garment technology knowledge is a plus
• Experience working with faux leather, wool, fur/shearling-style materials or bags would be a plus
