Progression Coach (Part-Time) – Sutton

We are currently recruiting for a Part-Time Progression Coach to join a service that supports at-risk young people in Sutton, helping to prevent homelessness and move them towards independence.

Position Details:

*

Hours: 22.5 per week (rota basis, Monday–Sunday)

*

Shifts: Early (8am–4pm), Mid (9am–5pm), Late (12pm–8pm)

*

Weekends: 2 in every 4 weekends

*

Contract: Temporary (approx. 2–3 months)

*

Pay: £14.17 per hour + £1.71 holiday pay = £15.88 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

*

Manage a caseload of 6 clients, conducting key working sessions and creating support plans.

*

Complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments.

*

Assess and interview referrals, providing feedback where required.

*

Support clients ready to move on with networks and resources for independent living.

*

Build professional, supportive relationships with young people.

*

Encourage participation in Education, Training, Employment, and Volunteering.

*

Liaise with external agencies including local authorities, benefits agencies, and voluntary bodies.

*

Appropriately manage challenging behaviour and record incidents.

*

Maintain a safe and secure environment in line with health and safety standards.

*

Manage service charge collection and petty cash.

Please note: this role involves lone working.

Requirements:

*

Experience supporting young people experiencing homelessness.

*

Background in residential housing projects for young people.

*

Experience managing caseloads, support plans, and assessments.

*

Knowledge of youth homelessness causes and effects.

*

Understanding of young people’s support needs and available statutory/voluntary resources.

*

Knowledge of Health & Safety and anti-discriminatory practices.

*

Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.

*

Ability to maintain professional boundaries.

*

Competence using IT systems (Microsoft Office, databases).
