Graduate Science Teaching Assistant: Your Role

As a Graduate Science Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for

  • Supporting pupils in science lessons, ensuring they remain engaged and confident in their learning

  • Assisting in practical lab lessons, ensuring experiments run smoothly and safely

Graduate Science Teaching Assistant: Candidate Specification

The ideal Graduate Science Teaching Assistant, will have:

  • A 2:1 or higher degree in a science related subject from a top University
  • Strong academic background throughout GCSE’s and A-Levels
  • A strong passion for education and a long-term ambition to teach, mentor or work with young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and encourage secondary students
  • Previous experience working with young people (mentoring, tutoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential
