We are recruiting a part-time Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist/ Neuropsychologist due to expansion of our existing specialist 2b neurorehabilitation service - the Ontario unit.
The post is part of a well established MDT and an established team of clinical and neuropsychologists working across neurorehabilitation on the Orpington site. The role will involve neuropsychological assessment, intervention and rehabilitation with patients a acquired brain injuries, neurological conditions and spinal cord injury.
Applicants should be registered as clinical psychologists with the Health and Care Professions Council and with some experience of working in clinical neuropsychology and/or physical health setting.
Main duties of the job
To ensure the systematic provision of a highly specialised clinical neuropsychology service within the Ontario inpatient (level 2b) neurorehabilitation service based at Orpington hospital. The post holder will work alongside two part time 8b clinical psychologists, a full-time 8a clinical psychologist and a trainee clinical psychologist. Additional support and leadership is provided by a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist.
The role will require the analysis of complex information to determine the planning, management and implementation of neuropsychological rehabilitation in people with complex neurological disorders, requiring specialist management.
To provide expertise through highly specialist clinical input and to offer advice and consultation on clients’ neuropsychological care to other members of the team/service in relation to the area of expertise.
To provide specialist input regarding management of complex neurobehavioural issues.
To contribute to outpatient neuropsychological assessments as required.
To work autonomously within professional practice guidelines and Trust guidelines.
To propose and implement policy and service development, undertake research, service evaluation and audit for the team/service and to contribute to the training of clinical psychologists and others.
