The Chancery Rosewood, is redefining luxury in Mayfair, housed in the former U.S. Embassy and reimagined by Sir David Chipperfield. With 144 suites by Joseph Dirand and a collection of dynamic dining and bar spaces, it’s a place where experiences are curated, conversations flow, and every detail matters.
As a Steward, you will be the backbone of our hotel's Heart of House operation — the foundation upon which exceptional guest experiences are built. This role is about far more than cleaning and washing; it is about maintaining the standards, hygiene, and efficiency that allow every department to deliver seamless hospitality. If you take pride in a job well done, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and understand that true excellence begins behind the scenes, we would love to welcome you to our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all Heart of House areas, including kitchens, wash-up stations, and back-of-house corridors, ensuring a safe and organised environment at all times.
- Efficiently clean, sanitise, and return crockery, glassware, cutlery, and equipment to service areas, ensuring associates across all departments always have what they need to deliver outstanding service.
- Support the kitchen team during service periods by managing waste, replenishing supplies, and keeping workspaces clear, enabling chefs to focus on producing exceptional food.
- Monitor and maintain cleaning chemical usage in line with COSHH guidelines and hotel safety standards, reporting any hazards or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Heart of House and front-of-house teams, communicating proactively to ensure smooth operations throughout every service.
About You
Connection — You understand that your work directly enables every colleague around you to succeed, and you take genuine pride in being a dependable, supportive presence that the whole team can rely on.
Guest-Centricity — You recognise that a spotless, well-organised kitchen and back-of-house environment is the invisible foundation of every great guest experience, and you hold that standard with care and consistency.
Integrity — You approach every task with honesty and thoroughness, maintaining hygiene and safety standards even under pressure, and taking personal ownership of the cleanliness of your environment.
Drive — You bring energy and focus to every shift, working efficiently through demanding service periods, proactively identifying what needs attention, and never leaving a task half-finished.
Adaptability — You remain calm and productive in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment, adjusting your priorities as service demands change and supporting wherever you are needed most.
Teamwork — You are a collaborative and positive presence in the Heart of House, communicating clearly with chefs, supervisors, and fellow associates, and contributing to a team culture built on mutual respect and shared standards.
